David D. Lisitza

David Lisitza writes and supervises the writing of briefs for federal appellate courts including the United States Supreme Court, orally argues cases before courts of appeals, and conducts regulatory analysis.
David works in the Securities and Exchange Commission's Appellate Group, where he wrote and edited over 40 appellate briefs and orally argued 12 appeals. His focus is on insider trading, and he has written the SEC's briefs in Salman, Newman, Rajaratnam, Gupta, Obus, and Dorozhko.
David clerked for Judge Frank H. Easterbrook of the United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit. He worked in Mayer Brown’s Supreme Court and Appellate Practice group, and as an associate with Gibson Dunn.
David received his J.D. with honors from the University of Chicago. He also received his B.A. with honors from the University of Chicago.
He is a member of the Bar of the State of California, the Supreme Court Bar, and the bars of various federal courts of appeals.
